Normally when I write these, I wake up and start going full speed. I type as fast as I can, often trying to reach a certain number of words, worried that if I only type a few words, it won’t be enough.

Yesterday, some neighbors and my family got together for some pizza in the driveway and I told them about the book. I mentioned that I had a minimum of about 450 words per entry and about a maximum of 650. I somehow felt proud of how quickly I could type and how much information I was conveying.

Yet, sometimes it’s not about how much we say, but how little we say.

In a world overflowing with information and things craving our attention, sometimes just slowing down and saying a few things works better.

I feel, maybe for the first time, relaxed when writing this. Not feeling the clock ticking away at my heart with each keystroke.

How often in life will we rush through our words, try to get out as much as we can, only to realize that sometimes doing so makes us feel more exhausted, more empty?

Sometimes we can stop when we want to stop, not when the clock tells us to stop.
