Hey everyone. Welcome to the DailyJim It is me and Jim Kleiber it is thursday july 28th 2022. And today I wanted to talk about new political parties, political party identity actually. And so today I believe they are more officially announcing that Andrew Yang and a few other people are merging and creating a political party called the Forward Party, and they say it's not about being left or it's not going left and going right, it's about going forward. And.

Back. In 2018 or so, I was playing with the idea of coming up with a new political party, and I think maybe I've mentioned it before, there's a part of me that feels a little hesitant to talk about the same topic over and over again, funny enough, it seems like some people only talk about the same topic, so I'll talk about it again. But the idea for this political party was not based on ideas so much but was based on identity because I think about political parties and often it comes down to. I'm a Republican or I am a democrat, this is my identity. Or I am green or I am a libertarian or I am many of the other parties that exist and there's plenty of other parties in different countries, you know, and I think this concept of forward doesn't capture that I am a forwarder. I am forward. I am, maybe, maybe it'll work because I think we can wrap ourselves into almost any identity. I'm an iphone person or I'm an android person or I think we can, I think it's one of our strongest abilities maybe as humans is to just slap an identity on ourselves and then jump into a group and say, well, I'm different than you in group out group bias. But to pull back a little bit, I think the identity that, I wanted to play with, I wanted to have it be an inclusive identity because most of these are exclusive, I am Republican, which means I am therefore not democrat or vice versa. And I don't know forward achieves that so much. But again, maybe it will. But what I really liked about the one that came up with in 2018 was this, I don't care if you're a Republican or if you're a democrat or if you're a forwarder, I don't care if you're white or if you're black or if you're younger if you're old or if you're rich or if you're poor, if you're american or chinese or Russian or african to me, we are all human first and I want us to start seeing the humanity in each other.

And so for me, I really like this idea of human first because I think it can being open and exclusive, inclusive party. You could still be a democrat and a human first because no matter what, even if you don't want to join the party, I can still consider you part of it because I still see you as a human first. I still see myself as a human first.

And so I really like this idea as a political party. I like it much better than Forward necessarily because it says that, I don't know, maybe forward is the idea that we need to come together and go forward together and it's about unity. I just can someone be part of forward and part of another political party? And if not, does that create very similar divisiveness?

So, I like this idea of having an inclusive party that's focused on the identity and that's almost about tricking our human brains and our hearts into seeing each other as humans, um and not forgetting that human element when we get into political discussions.

And I think that something like this could start to develop on a much larger level, not just locally or nationally, but maybe even globally as well, and notice how I didn't say internationally, because I think internationally focuses on nation to nation, whereas globally focuses on at least right now the full human species and more So this is something I'm really excited about. I haven't talked about it much because I have this tendency to want to do a big reveal, but, at the same time, maybe humanity is just about showing up day to day just being there and being human with each other, showing our foibles and our uncertainties and things like that. So, today I want to talk a little bit more about that and human first as an idea for an inclusive political party that focuses on identity and focuses more on how do we change the way we do politics in terms of, showing our humanity a little bit more, seeing the humanity of others a little bit more and frankly, just being a little more human together. Oh, that's the end of this speech today, and I hope you have a great weekend. I'd love to hear your comments on this. So join the forum or send me a message and I'd love to continue the conversation. Thanks.
