Hello everyone welcome to another DailyJim It is friday june 3rd 2022 and I want to talk about little baby birds today because why not? Um I think it was about two years ago, right when the pandemic was starting, I was setting up a hammock in the backyard. I'm so excited, I haven't used this hammock since I was a kid and back at my parents house and I was so excited like, oh man, we're sitting hammock reminisce and nostalgic old days, and set it up and no sooner than I had set it up, I realized that there was a robin creating a nest, right outside where I was setting up the hammock on the back of the garage kind of on the downspout.

And I was so annoyed because I was so excited to have this hammock there and you know, the robin made the nest and we have a spot where like through with one of our windows, looks out on that exact spot. And so you know, we set up the binoculars in the window and I went in, you know, we were watching every day, was trying to stay away from the hammock because I didn't want to upset the bird like I cared, I care about the bird having more privacy than me sitting in the hammock. It's not that big of a deal. And so you know, we look out the window, were there any babies yet there any babies and one day that there was one or two beaks that started popping up and I don't know if you've ever seen a robin's nest, you just, you look at the nest and you just see beaks kind of sticking straight up into the sky and you know when the mama bird or papa bird, whatever comes back, you see the beaks reach out a lot higher. These little beaks are so hungry And I think maybe at the time we had three or 4. Anyways and we watch them and they grow up and then we'd see them trying to fly around a little bit in the backyard and they're a little fuzzier and we had a bird bath and you see the birds kind of hop in there and try to figure out how to bathe. They don't really know what they're doing, but I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see kind of these birds grow up such a short time, you know, as humans, we take quite a long time to grow up compared to so many other animals and to be able to watch these little birds just grow up so quickly. It was really fun anyways, I bring it up because there was about a year, I think one year they didn't come back and we noticed a couple weeks ago that they were starting to build a nest and so, some of the babies are starting to poke their little heads out and see the see the beaks popping through, and just really excited to see that. I just remind myself that, you know.

All animals have some type of home, right? And to think that these Robbins year after year started to get into a certain rhythm and they're like, oh, you know what? This is a really nice downspout. I think this is a good spy. You know, it'll protect us from the other birds or maybe the hawks like we're good here except for that stupid human that wants to sit in his hammock. But we can always squawk at him and dive bomb him if he gets too close. But yeah, I just, I really appreciate some of the simple things, wow, I have notifications going off on my computer. Let me turn that off. So this sounds like a professional podcast.

It's at the moment I'm trying to do this ahead of time. So it doesn't hit the chime on the clock, but I'm almost there anyways. Um I'm just really grateful to.

Realize that you know, almost no matter where we are on this planet, there is other life, there is other life that ends. There is other life that begins that we humans are not alone. There are plants around us, there are birds, there are insects, there are animals, they had like deer and raccoons and bunny rabbits and little baby squirrel that I saw today running around, just a lot of different animals. Almost no matter where we are on the planet. I was reading something about saying that there's in some deep part of the ocean where there's volcanic activity. There are sharks that have learned to adapt to live in such hot waters in such sulfuric waters. So just to remind you to remind myself that there are little babies everywhere, animals, ants, all sorts of things and that, Yeah, we're not alone. And I'm going to finish early today. How about that? How about that friday night? I'm going to finish before these chimes goes off and wishing you all a good weekend. My birthday is on sunday, so I'm going to enjoy that. And yeah, talk to you monday, monday monday.
