Wow.

A few weeks ago, I watched the debut of the short film, Breathless, at TEDxMileHigh in Denver.

The most important part of this post is that you watch the 4 minute film above. The rest is bonus.

The feelings that coursed through my body were undeniably powerful, and I am not even a native of the area.

The film is a celebration of what makes Denver, Denver, while debuting in Denver surrounded by people from Denver. When it debuted, the feeling of overwhelming awe palpably filled the room. The imagery stunned, the music built, and the words shook.

But will it for everyone?

For someone who is not familiar with Denver, the references may not resonate. Sure, some of the imagery is universally powerful, but references to green chili won’t trigger an emotion for all.

However, imagine the power of having such a work to celebrate the beauty of your own city?

I can think of few things that would be more transformational for my home area of Metro Detroit than an uplifting, proud film like this one.
